Position: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT FIXED ASSETS/INVENTORY (Ref: FN 01/10)

Job Description

The fixed asset accountant ensures month end account analysis and reconciliations. Organizes financial reporting and accounting for plant funds, fixed assets and periodic physical inventories. He/she manages the overall fixed asset and other inventory records. Maintains computerized fixed asset records and oversees the physical inventories and tagging of equipment items, reconciles detailed fixed asset records with the financial accounting records. Calculates the initial cost of the asset, the cost to purchase the asset along with the amounts spent to get the asset ready to use. Supervises, coordinates and participates in the inventory accounting function. Monitors actual expenditures of all building and renovation projects to ensure that projects stay within budget.

Requirements for the position:

Bachelor degree in Accounting with a minimum of five (5) years of cognate experience in fixed asset/inventory accounting.

Membership of recognized Accounting Institute will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of relevant financial and accounting software e.g. Banner is preferred.

Title: PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT Ref: FN 02/10)


Job Description

The payroll accountant provides an efficient and effective payroll service ensuring service users are provided with accurate information at all times. Maintains and inputs payroll information in a precise and accurate manner. Posts payroll data and prepares routine reports and/or payments to government agencies, insurance companies and others.

Calculates deductions, such as income tax, pensions contributions and/or Social Security payments, Health Insurance and other Insurance deductibles, etc. The Payroll Accountant also processes and issues employee paychecks, statements of earnings and deductions as well as reviews time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information in order to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

Requirements for the position:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent field from a recognized University/Polytechnic with at least three (3) years of post qualification experience in payroll and employee benefits;

Membership of relevant accounting institutes will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of a computerized payroll system is preferred

IT skills in packages such as Word processing and spreadsheets are required.

Title: PROCUREMENT MANAGER Ref: FN 03/10)

Job Description

The Procurement Manager develops and implements University procurement policies and procedures. She/he researches and evaluates commodity markets and recommends standards for the Qualified Products List. She/he interprets contract provisions and reviews contracts for accuracy and changes prior to bid and renewal; maintains complete updated procurement records/data and pricing for the University; executes and monitors all regular procurement duties. The Procurement Manager also assists in managing and following up overseas orders; monitors and co-ordinates timely deliveries from suppliers/vendors to site/store. Contacts suppliers for price quotes; prepares requisitions and affixes authorizing signature before ordering.

Requirements for the position:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Purchasing and Supply or a related field. Possession of relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.

Proven experience of developing key supplier relationships and at least 4 years working experience will be preferred. In-depth knowledge of basic business and purchasing practices and procedures as well as an understanding of relevant Nigerian laws, regulations and procedures in purchasing will be required.

Marine Support Engineer Nigeria

Haztek International are working on behalf of a Global marine service provider to the Oil & Gas industry to find 2 Marine Support Engineers to be based in Nigeria

The main purpose of this role is to manage the day to day marine activities of the site and be the first level contact for Marine Contracts, including marine operations services, tug boats, IMR vessels, crew boats and supply boats.

The main responsibilities and tasks will include

1. Conducting market surveys on prospects of obtaining additional marine support including personnel, equipment, services and 3rd parties
2. preparing tenders and purchase orders for marine equipment & services
3. Finalising contract awards/procurements and arranging the delivery of the equipment, supplies or services
4. Managing regular supplies of diesel oil and methenol to the FPSO
5. Organising vetting of vessels before proceeding to the field
